Victims of Bill Johnson’s SOZO Ministry speak out

Many churches are bringing a practice called SOZO into their ministry, at the peril of damaging the sheep and possibly shipwrecking their faith. SOZO Prayer is a technique based on psychology and used by so-called “inner healing ministries” sweeping churches today.

This psycho-spiritual deliverance and inner healing methodology is designed to exorcise demons from Christians. Not that a Christian can be possessed by demons, but that is one of many apostate teachings from the New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR.

"The pastor said we were in rebellion, and asked us to leave the church before we caused any division. He asked the other leaders to avoid us and not to engage in any conversation with us. We were so dependent on this system that even though we spent the next 7 years looking for a church, nothing gave us the "thrill" that the former one gave us."

Many victims of the New Apostolic Reformation-style churches become very co-dependent on the authority of their church leaders over them. In Shelly's case, she has not been a member of any church since leaving this one.

I write this to you not to come out to bash people but to sincerely warn people of the dangerous trend that has engulfed the N.A.R. church.

Eliza remembers being pushed down at the altar if she didn't willingly fall to the ground in the "spirit." She was part of a well-known "apostle's" church, and we are going to name him as to mark and avoid him. If you are part of one of these churches, take heart that you are not alone, and praise God that He is opening your eyes.

I was exposed to the "kundalini" spirit, and saw some people barking like dogs. At one of these meetings a well-known & respected AOG pastor declared that these manifestations were indeed from the Lord. I didn't stand a chance.

Olivia found a church in Australia, and began to grow in truth – or so she thought. Unfortunately, the New Apostolic Reformation is a counterfeit dominionist movement, and not biblical Christianity at all.

“Prophetic Activations” will happen next week at Steven Furtick’s Elevation Church, a clear indicator that Furtick is not just affiliating, but becoming one with the heretical New Apostolic Reformation.

I first noticed Furtick dipping his toe into the signs-and-wonders New Apostolic Reformation movement five years ago when he traveled to Australia for the Presence 2012 Conference with John Bevere, for “a golden fire of anointing, vision and miracles.”

Derrick is from the United Kingdom, and was introduced to the N.A.R. by a female relative who married a "prophet." From there, Derrick was plummeted into a dark world of demonic experiences and teachings that are opposite of the true Gospel of Christ...

Andrew was submerged and drowning in every kind of N.A.R. practice one can imagine, and his congregation was abused at the hands of his "apostle."

Phil's hunger for God was idolatry. He was focused on wanting more and more experiences of God's "presence," but instead received the Spirit of the Age. That's because the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), is a counterfeit. It's not biblical Christianity at all.

Maaike is from the Netherlands, and her story of inner healing took her back to her childhood, where false memories were inserted into her head. This Sozo or Theophostic - type healing is foundational to New Apostolic Reformation "deliverance ministries," which Maaike was a part of.

Jared and his wife had been experiencing what they called demonic thoughts, and sought help through a spiritual deliverance ministry. These spiritual warfare sessions are common in New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) churches and are gaining popularity in mainstream Evangelical churches. Spiritual warfare is one of the hallmarks of the NAR movement.

As you'll learn from Glenn, oftentimes NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) teachings filter into churches by way of worship music. While contemporary styles can glorify Christ, there are certain methods musicians like Glenn are taught to use repeating phrases, musical tones, and ethereal lyrics designed to seductively manipulate your mind into a mystical consciousnesses.

Our pleas have fallen on deaf ears. According to my family, we are “troublemakers,” “harsh,” “divisive,” “ignorant,” and my favorite, "tricky."

Fortunately and by God’s grace, Heather and her husband were not tricked into believing the counterfeit doctrines of the New Apostolic Reformation. But, like many of you, her extended family fell hook, line and sinker for the NAR, and is trapped in the bondage of a movement that contains doctrines of demons.

Heather has allowed me to include her story in this series about a movement called the New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR for short.
