Leaving the NAR Church: Chrissy's story

Leaving the NAR Church: Chrissy's story

“I would always look up to these people getting "words from God" and wished that I could have this special relationship with Him as they did. I desired it - so why wasn't God speaking to me the way He spoke to them?”

Chrissy has allowed me to include her story in this series about a movement called the New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR for short. In this series, I want to take readers beyond the textbook What is the New Apostolic Reformation Movement explanation, into the personal experiences from those who have been there, and what happened when God opened their eyes to the truth.

Leaving the NAR Church: Danette's story

Leaving the NAR Church: Danette's story

“The hardest part about leaving a NAR church is that you are broken and enslaved BUT YOU DO NOT KNOW IT – because every time you turn around, someone is preaching ‘Jesus.’ And nobody wants to leave Jesus.”

The Jesus Danette worshipped as a child was a counterfeit. She has allowed me to include her story in this series about a movement called the New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR for short.

Leaving the NAR Church: Kent's story

Leaving the NAR Church: Kent's story

“We spoke glowingly of the “revivals” in Toronto and Florida. We wanted to be “drunk in the Spirit” like they were. In one service, the pastor’s message was about how the signs of the Zodiac told the story of the Gospel. I think there may have been one Scripture reference, taken way out of context, of course.”

Kent has allowed me to include his story in this series about a movement called the New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR for short. In this series, I want to take readers beyond the textbook What is the New Apostolic Reformation Movement explanation, into the personal experiences from those who have been there, and what happened when God opened their eyes to the truth.

Leaving the NAR Church: Aimee's story

“I had been largely sheltered from false teachings for most of my life. That all changed in 2011 when I met a guy who told me about this great church he was attending, and invited me to go with him.”

What started out as a kind invitation ended up as a full-blown nightmare for this woman, who witness the worst of the demonic realm that is the NAR.

Leaving the NAR Church: Rene's story

Leaving the NAR Church: Rene's story

When I asked her why she wouldn’t be concerned that maybe this teaching is not of God, she got very upset and told me I was trying to intimidate her with the “spirit of fear.”

Rene has been trying to contend for the truth with a friend who has been posting N.A.R. theology on her social media, and she has allowed me to include her story in this series about a movement called the New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR for short.

Catrina has moved from church to church between Australia and New Zealand, always having to leave as the N.A.R. infection spread. Here is her story in her own words:

Leaving the NAR Church: Lydia's story

Leaving the NAR Church: Lydia's story

We sent her there with our blessing and financial support, gone from us for a year without contact for the most part and under their influence and NAR teaching.  Our solid home church, pastors and elders, supported and sent her off with their blessing as well.

Lydia’s loved one was exposed and indoctrinated to the New Apostolic Reformation through Adventures in Missions (AIM) and The World Race. (See, The aim of AIM and the World Race.) The guilt she feels is compounded by the fact that this young woman will no longer listen to Lydia’s tearful Scriptural pleas for discernment.

Leaving the NAR Church: Marissa's story

"He prayed over her, and my little girl truly believed God had healed her. I will never forget her face. She thought she was healed."

Unfortunately, Marissa's little girl was NOT healed. She became another victim of the countless "healing" events that take place all over the world under the banner of the New Apostolic Reformation, a movement that is shipwrecking the faith of millions.

Leaving the NAR Church: Shelly’s story

Leaving the NAR Church: Shelly’s story

"The pastor said we were in rebellion, and asked us to leave the church before we caused any division. He asked the other leaders to avoid us and not to engage in any conversation with us. We were so dependent on this system that even though we spent the next 7 years looking for a church, nothing gave us the "thrill" that the former one gave us."

Many victims of the New Apostolic Reformation-style churches become very co-dependent on the authority of their church leaders over them. In Shelly's case, she has not been a member of any church since leaving this one.

Leaving the NAR Church: Eliza's story

I write this to you not to come out to bash people but to sincerely warn people of the dangerous trend that has engulfed the N.A.R. church.

Eliza remembers being pushed down at the altar if she didn't willingly fall to the ground in the "spirit." She was part of a well-known "apostle's" church, and we are going to name him as to mark and avoid him. If you are part of one of these churches, take heart that you are not alone, and praise God that He is opening your eyes.

Leaving the NAR Church: Olivia's story

I was exposed to the "kundalini" spirit, and saw some people barking like dogs. At one of these meetings a well-known & respected AOG pastor declared that these manifestations were indeed from the Lord. I didn't stand a chance.

Olivia found a church in Australia, and began to grow in truth – or so she thought. Unfortunately, the New Apostolic Reformation is a counterfeit dominionist movement, and not biblical Christianity at all.

Furtick, Elevation Church activate N.A.R. Apostles

“Prophetic Activations” will happen next week at Steven Furtick’s Elevation Church, a clear indicator that Furtick is not just affiliating, but becoming one with the heretical New Apostolic Reformation.

I first noticed Furtick dipping his toe into the signs-and-wonders New Apostolic Reformation movement five years ago when he traveled to Australia for the Presence 2012 Conference with John Bevere, for “a golden fire of anointing, vision and miracles.”
