The true glory of the Lord: A case for trembling

What would you do if the God of all creation appeared in His glory? Does He make personal, visual appearances today? Some believe God has been visiting certain church services in the form of gold dust, or "glory clouds."

Check out the strange phenomenon and reaction a few months ago when gold dust mysteriously appeared from the ventilation ducts at this church prayer and worship service:

Todd Friel asks good questions for our discernment: Where is that trembling of fear?  We are hearing more and more about extra-biblical face-to-face meetings with God, "visitations" of angels, orbs, angel feathers, gemstones, gold dust and people teaching that you can intentionally separate your soul from your physical body and make trips up to the "Third Heaven."  It seems to be treated as a cool thing to experience, and there is not much fear of the Lord happening. Nor does there seem to be the Holy Spirit's conviction that Jesus spoke of:

John 16: 8 - 15: When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:  in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me;   in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer;   and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.   But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.   He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.   All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.

In the Old Testament, people trembled in fear whenever an angel of the Lord appeared. When John, the disciple Jesus loved, wrote of his visitation to heaven in Revelation, he fell face down to worship the angel who spoke to him. Certainly, God can and does speak to us today. And if you can't hear Him, you can pick up your Bible and read 66 chapters of His Word, a living, life-giving affirmation that He is who He is.
